UE4 generalist developer
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Prototyping gameplay elements and create technical solutions to everyday development team tasks
  • Improving the toolkit and create new features for UE4
  • Working with a remote international team through Discord, sticking to a tight development schedule and participating in code review
  • Participating in task and time tracking practices in ClickUp


Essential:
  • Proficiency in UE4 architecture and tools
  • C ++ in the context of UE4 and Blueprints
  • Experience in creating plugins and modules in UE4
  • Intermediate English level


Preferred:
  • Understanding of Paper 2D, materials, Cascade / Niagara, UMG.
  • Familiarity with the basic data structures, algorithms, techniques for implementing AI on UE4
  • Experience with version control systems (git, perforce)
  • Good algorithmic and mathematical framework, an understanding of 3D-mathematics

    UE4 technical artist
    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Creating game levels, adjust lighting, materials and shaders
    • Improving tools for artists and other team members
    • Working with a remote international team through Discord, sticking to a tight development schedule and participating in code review
    • Participating in task and time tracking practices in ClickUp


    Essential:
    • Proficiency in UE4 architecture and tools
    • Skills to create shaders, textures. Experience with particle systems in Cascade or Niagara
    • Experience in evaluating and improving game performance (UE4 Profiler Tool)
    • Intermediate English level


    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of 3D modeling packages: Maya, 3ds Max or others
    • Knowledge of the basics of building uvw-sweeps
    • Experience with version control systems (git, perforce)
    • Understanding of linear algebra and geometry
    • Experience in creating plugins and modules in UE4

      Writer
      Your responsibilities will include:
      • Writing branching character dialogue in Unreal Engine 4 (NotYet Dialogue plugin)
      • Working with a remote international team through Discord, sticking to a tight development schedule
      • Participating in task and time tracking practices in ClickUp

      Essential:
      • Ability to write and edit dialogue confidently
      • High level of grammar and punctuation
      • Ability to take direction well from two senior writers
      • Understanding of technical limitations of game engines/interactive dialogue systems


      Preferred:
      • Familiarity with film noir or similar 'screwball dialogue' genres
      • Strong grasp of tone of voice and character differentiation
      • Experience of writing non-linear dialogue
      • Experience working in small teams
      • Confident asking for, giving and acting on feedback
      • Understanding of concept of player agency
      • Understanding of environmental storytelling and concept of storysense
      • Ability to sketch a scene structure quickly
      • Confidence working with existing lore/backstory frameworks

        Meet our team
        EggNut is a game studio established in 2017 in Vancouver, Canada. We're a diverse team of passionate creators based across Canada, Russia, England and Netherlands. Our mission is to explore the complexity of the human condition through the joy of interactive experiences. Our debut game, Backbone, is a noir-inspired detective adventure starring a raccoon PI, and set in a pixel art version of dystopian Vancouver.

        We have conducted a successful Kickstarter campaign with 2500 backers in 2018, and launched Backbone: Prologue as a free title on Steam to overwhelmingly positive reviews in 2019. Backbone is set to release in 2020 on PC, Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Backbone is being developed in Unreal Engine 4 and combines high resolution pixel art with modern technologies such as 3D lighting, particles, decals, normal and roughness maps.
